Standing in the heart of the city, it is a symbol of faith for many and witnesses most of the important events of the country like the president's speech on Independence day. According to an old custom of Mexico, all newly weds are supposed to come straight to the angel after pronouncing their marital vows.
This place is hardly at a 20 min walk from my hotel & often I come and sit here once its dark in the evening. Though it has a lot of traffic circling around it, it somehow gives you a sense of peace. The complete name of the place is El Ángel de la Independencia.
