476 - 15th - Bumping along the waves

Originally clicked and uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 15th Apr'09

The sun was just setting down and all the fishermen were returning to their homes. Every 30 seconds I could see a boat pass by; bumping against the high waves and making a roaring sound as they sail away.

The sky was golden and so was the water. The sun had an orange circle around it and you could barely see the people or the boat for that matter; only a silhouette.

422 - 10th - Against the clouds

Originally clicked and uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 10th Feb'09

Though it seems like a tree on the slope of a mountain but really it isn't. I mean yeah, it is a tree for sure but the slope is not of a mountain. The slope is of one of the huge pyramids at Monte Alban in Oaxaca.

The Monte Alban ruins are one of the most popular ruins in Mexico after Palenque and Chichinitza. The place covers a vast area and has some dense vegetation around it. Most of the trees which covered the pyramids were cleared off but some are still standing tall . This one was one of them.

328 - 8th - At the horizon

Originally clicked and uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 8th Nov'08

After a long day of roaming around I was exhausted to the core and thus decided to have a break and rest for some time at a deserted beach. As I was searching for an empty place to lie down, it was already getting dark and the beautiful coconut trees on the beach had started to turn into silhouettes. The sun had gone to bed leaving behind a dim trail of light. The ship at the horizon seemed to be sailing back home.

I lay down on en empty chair and closed my eyes. The sound of splashing water and a cool breeze hitting my face soon led me into deep slumbers.

237 - 9th - All woody

Originally clicked and uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 9th Aug'08

Ohh I really love silhouettes. I think I have posted many silhouettes on my blog in form or the other & here comes one more.

A barren, dry, dead tree, standing in the front yard of a church against the Grey evening sky. Abandoned by its greenery, its leaves and everything which was essentially a part of its existence, this dead log of wood had enough strength to stand straight and announce - its still far from over.

228 - 31st - The evening lamps

Originally clicked and uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 31st July'08

It was bedtime for the sun and road side lamps had started glowing. the sky still wasnt completely dark and the soft glow of the lamps against the dark blue sky was really a beautiful sight. You could see people sitting underneath these lamps, enjoying the lovely evening with a cool breeze hitting against their faces.

As is pretty much evident, the lamps were designed in order to match the architectural style of downtown Tlaxcala.

110 - 4th - The silhouette

Originally clicked ans uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 4th Apr'08

I have been told be many people who have been observing my photography trends, that I am obsessed with silhouettes. 2 out of 5 good photos of mine will be silhouettes. Proving them right and continuing with the trend, this is one more silhouette I clicked today.

One strange thing about this tree is that it doesn't have any leaves. Only bare stretching branches as if autumn has struck, and bright red flowers right at the tips. It surely is a very pleasant look. I will click one in day light and post it over the weekend.
