330 - 10th - Late night music

Originally clicked and uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 10th Nov'08

Downtowns in Mexico are always buzzing with different activities. Be it early in the morning or late at night, the buzz never seems to die. You can see people lingering around, small eateries making good business and music streaming through the air.

It was one such night when I just went for a walk to downtown Tlaxcala. I was passing through the central park when I heard some music from a distance. Upon reaching there I saw this young man singing and playing a guitar to a small audience. His songs were filled with local "bad words" and the listeners really seemed to enjoy it.

Given the fair amount of equipment piled behind him, I was sure that this was sort of an end to a bigger concert & given the hat kept in front of him, I was sure he was singing for money.

187 - 20th - Music on the streets

Talent they say can be found hidden anywhere. It doesnt need big concert halls, nor does it needs widespread appreciation. All it needs is a small world of itself where it can flourish and fly with it's wings spread wide.

This man whom I found with his guitar sitting in the mid of the road was a perfect example of lost-in-his-own-little-world syndrome. He wasn't sitting there for alms. Neither did he care if anyone was listening to him. All he cared was about him and his passion towards his music. When asked for a photo, he was all ready with a strange "pacified" look on his face.

147 - 11th - Strings

Their vibration in thin air creates magic. These stretched strings produce a dozen different notes & give birth to ear warming music.

At the local "Office Depot" I saw these guitars kept in a corner. They were kept in the electronic section along with other items such as cameras & laptops. As I was clicking this shot, one of the salespersons of the section came to me and asked me to come with him & talk to the supervisor. They thought that maybe the camera in my hand is one of the many displayed in their store. After 5 long minutes of explaining the entire story (they don't understand English) they finally allowed me to walk away with the camera.
