11 - 27th - A Black day

Benazir Butto - brutally assassinated.

I have been closely following Pakistani politics from the time Nawaz and Benazir announced their return to their mother-land. Somehow Benazir always seemed to be ray of hope amidst all the chaos prevalent in the country.

The headlines at rediff came as BIG shock to me. I just couldn't believe the cruelty and brutality displayed by the assassins in extinguishing the last strong flame of hope in Pakistani politics. Extremists who didn't want her to return to power again, extremists who couldn't stand a 'woman' rule the country, extremists who pose a grave danger to towards the destabilization of the entire Pakistani nation, have at last, in their second attempt, succeeded in their heinous plans.

I pay my condolences towards a brave lady, who dared to enter a well of fire and laid her life fighting for a cause.

Dude, I neither know politics nor do I understand it. I am sad you wasted one image space for a lady who killed herself and hundreds because of her own foolishness.

With loads of hope that you dont do injustice to this beautiful site again,
Me.

If you dont understand politics, you have no right to call any of a politician's act as foolishness. :)

Everyone has their own perspective .. and my perspective tells me to remember this day as a tragic one .. for i know the lady and the efforts she has been putting in.

Also, in ur terms ... i am more than happy to "waste' one post of mine for something tht hurt me deep.

She was brave or ambitious if that describes her and the drama better. But I think you should try read up on the politics a bit before her and their attempts to return to the 'Mother land'. Especially on how both these rulers Benazir first and then Sharif affected the terrorist activities stemming in Asia.I wonder what the patriot in you will feel for the lady and her politics.
But then it did seem like democracy would return to Pakistan with her return and that the world might be a better place for it.
Is this post an image ?? :)

I agree the past was grey, both for Sharif and Benazir. Also, its the self created bug called "Taliban" which has come back and stung Benazir, but my sympathies with the lady are wrt the present scenario only.

Sharif is a weak leader, already denounced by Mush, and that could have happened again anytime. But Benazir had the stature and most importantly, US support, which would have made her "Mush proof" and helped bring some stability to Pak.

For all the people here who are crticizing the owner of the blog for his post: Its his wish to use his blog for what he wants to express!!! Why do u start advising him on that???? And Pratosh: Its ur space... stop explaining to each person why your view is correct. If they cared abt ur feelings, they would not attempt to force u to make it the way they want it.
