Originally clicked and uploaded by - Pratosh Dwivedi - 24th Sept'08Janitzio is a small island near to the capital city of Morelia in the statue of Michoacán. You have to take a boat and travel for around 20 minutes to reach the island. The main attraction of the place is the huge statue of Jose Maria Morelos standing tall, right on top of the island. It will certainly be the first thing you will observe when you visit the place. You can actually climb to the top of the head of the statue from inside and have a panoramic view of the surroundings.
I took this photo from the boat just before we actually hit the shores. The statue reminded me of the statue of Jesus in Rio de Jeneiro.
